I’m just a guy trying to figure out what the climate change agenda is all about. I have a degree in biology and a masters degree in leadership. For several years, I was a naturalist with parks systems in Ontario, Manitoba and Alberta. I don’t pretend to be a climatologist or a climate specialist of any description, I do however have an understanding of natural and organizational systems. For what its worth, until very recently I was sold on the climate change, man as agent of doom story. Owing to an argument I had with my brother-in-law about AGW and his wacky skeptical ideas gleaned from Michael Crichton, I read State of Fear. It annoyed me to the point of digging into the “science”… what I found changed my views. Watching AIT just confirmed my switch.
So that makes me a skeptic. I present things as I see them. I’m not trying to convince you to think one way or another, but just to think. If you disagree with what I write, that’s fine. If you choose to leave message in the comments section, that’s great. Please remember the rules of civility. Any ad hominem attacks will probably be deleted because of bad taste. If you are trying to sway my opinions on global warming and climate change, please try to do so by reference to the science, not by calling me or anyone else names or questioning my intelligence. Arguements like “the science is settled” or “2500 scientists have a consensus” or “the debate is over” are fallacious and do not constitute proof.
All that said, I encourage thoughtful debate. I don’t claim to be right, I just have my opinions based on what I have read in the literature. As the Budhha said “strive on”.

You’re Ian’s brother?

Crichton?
As with Milloy (see the other post), Crichton is wrong about DDT.

I read your blog with great interest. I found this news item the other day on the BBC website. It poses the question: oil or water? and seems to highlight the dilemma faced by developing countries. I thought it would be an interesting topic for debate and I would be interested in your, and others, viewpoints and comments. Thankyou.
